Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is closely based on the MBSR program. Developed by Segal, Williams and Teasdale (MBCT) in order to intervene to prevent relapse or recurrent episodes of major depression for clients who have had a major depressive episode in their lives. It brings together all of the elements of the mindfulness based stress reduction program with the addition of cognitive therapy components. It’s original aim was to prevent relapse around major depression it also has application to other disorders. This is an eight week program and will be run in Ballarat in Term 2, 2018
